MBR SCRAP MY CARMANCHESTER

FROM YOUR FIRST ENQUIRY TO COLLECTION

How Scrap Car
Collection Works.

Send your vehicle details for our team to review, receive a response by phone or email, and agree the collection arrangements before preparing for handover. MBR collects vehicles in Manchester and the surrounding areas, with delivery to an authorised treatment facility for scrapping.

1. Send your vehicle details

Start with your vehicle registration and collection postcode, then send your contact details. Tell us about the condition, any missing parts and whether the vehicle starts, rolls and steers. You can also call the team to discuss it.

2. Review your quote with the team

Our team will review your enquiry and contact you by phone or email about your quote. We may ask for more information about the vehicle before quoting. If you decide to go ahead, agree the address, timing and payment arrangements with the team. Mention narrow entrances, locked gates or anything that could affect access. Sending an enquiry does not confirm a booking.

3. Complete the handover

Have your available documents and keys ready, and remove your belongings. Check the handover details and keep your receipt. MBR collects and transports the vehicle; the receiving authorised treatment facility carries out the treatment.

BEFORE COLLECTION DAY

A little preparation helps.

Gather your V5C and keys if you have them, and check which identification the team needs to see. Tell us before collection if anything is missing. If you want to retain a private number plate, arrange that with DVLA before the handover.

AFTER THE HANDOVER

Keep the paperwork clear.

Notify DVLA

You are responsible for telling DVLA when the vehicle is transferred. Keep the receiving business details and confirmation. Without a V5C, follow DVLA’s instructions for notifying them in writing.

GOV.UK: tell DVLA about a transfer

Treatment at an authorised facility

The receiving facility handles the end-of-life vehicle treatment. This includes dealing with fluids and hazardous components, recovering suitable parts and preparing materials for recycling.

What happens after scrapping

Keep the relevant certificate

A completely scrapped car receives a Certificate of Destruction from the ATF within seven days. It is different from a collection receipt. Other vehicle types and vehicles repaired for resale have different paperwork.

A VEHICLE WITH MORE USE AHEAD?

Selling is a separate enquiry.

A usable or repairable vehicle may be suitable for sale. Send its details through the relevant form and the team will review them and contact you. These sale enquiry forms do not provide an instant valuation.
